Question Discuss the main problems of cottage or small scale industries in Pakistan? Introduction Everybody recognizes the importance of cottage and small scale industry in Pakistan.The measures taken so far for the expansion of small scale industry have not been successful.From the very little contribution of small scale industry towards GDP,it is evident that there are some hurdles in the way of development of these industries. Following are the problems of small scale industries. 1.Lack of Capital The major problem in the expansion and growth of small scale is the shortage of capital .The artisans and craftsman need working capital to purchase raw material and machinery.They also need money to meet the consumption requirements of the family. 2.High Cost The production cost of the goods produced on small scale is comparatively high in Pakistan.They are ,therefore,not able to compute with the goods manufactured on larger scale in the open market. 3.U
